What is checked in a child’s eye test
Testing is adapted to the age and personality of each child. It can include:
Distance and near vision using picture or letter charts.
Eye‑teaming and tracking tests to see how well the eyes work together for reading.
Focusing tests to investigate eye strain, headaches or difficulty changing focus from board to desk.
Screening for lazy eye (amblyopia), turned eye (strabismus), early myopia and other developmental conditions.
Supporting learning and development
If glasses, vision therapy, myopia control or referral are recommended, everything is explained clearly to parents and children. Practical advice is given on screen time, posture, lighting and homework set‑ups. Regular reviews help ensure vision keeps up with school demands and sport as your child grows.
