Who contact lenses can help
Many prescriptions can be fitted successfully, including short‑sightedness, long‑sightedness, astigmatism and presbyopia (the need for reading help). Options are also available for myopia‑control and specialty corneal shapes.
The fitting process
A contact lens consultation usually involves:
Assessment of corneal shape, tear quality and general eye health.
Discussion of when and how often you would like to wear lenses.
Trial fitting of appropriate designs such as daily disposable, fortnightly or monthly, toric for astigmatism, multifocal, or Ortho‑K where suitable.
Hands‑on teaching of insertion, removal and hygiene routines until you feel confident.
Safe, long‑term lens wear
Follow‑up appointments are built into the process to check comfort, vision and corneal health once you have worn the lenses in real‑world conditions. Annual reviews and ongoing support help ensure you enjoy the benefits of contact lenses while keeping your eyes healthy.
